It has well and truly been a rollercoaster of a day for Birmingham City Football Club.

The club announced earlier today that they have relieved Gary Rowett of his managerial duties at St Andrews, in what was shock news to many fans of the club and football fans in general.

The former Burton Albion manager had done a sensational job at the Blues, having been appointed when the club were effectively relegation fodder, and subsequently transforming them to top six contenders in the league.

It is now looking likely that the Blues will announce the appointment of Gianfranco Zola as the club's new manager to succeed Gary Rowett.

Zola has experience of managing in England before, having enjoyed spells at West Ham United and Watford - he guided the latter to the Championship play-off final.

Blues fans have been going crazy on Twitter today and have reacted to this mad day for the club.
