Birmingham City suffered their first league defeat under Pep Clotet when they were convincingly beaten 3-0 by Nottingham Forest at the City Ground yesterday.

Goals from Joe Lolley, Lewis Grabban and Michael Dawson sealed a comfortable victory for the hosts but worryingly for Blues it really should have been much worse.

Clotet's side were carved open on many occasions but poor finishing from the Reds kept the score somewhat respectable. As well as that, the visitors didn't offer much going the other way themselves in what was a disappointing display.

After picking up four points from their first two games, and playing stylish football last week, this was a big reality check for Blues and the manner of the defeat will have really concerned the Spaniard.

It certainly worried the fans who know that it could be a very long season if they don't significantly improve.
