Coventry City midfielder Zain Westbrooke believes that the Sky Blues need to start scoring goals from all over the pitch in the absence of key attacking players, ahead of Saturday's meeting with Colchester United in the FA Cup.

The Sky Blues will be without strikers Matt Godden, who is continuing his recovery from injury, and Maxime Biamou who is suspended for the trip to Colchester, and will need to find a way of securing a victory without those two key attacking players against their League Two opponents.

Westbrooke has chipped in with three league goals and two assists so far this campaign, and the Sky Blues will need other players to manage similar contributions if they are going to find enough firepower to build a consistent run of form.

Speaking to the media ahead of Coventry's trip to Colchester on Saturday, Westbrooke outlined the importance of everyone stepping up.

"Everyone in the team needs to take responsibility when it comes to scoring goals, we all have to chip in."

The midfielder also suggested that Coventry will miss Biamou's presence up front, but that it will give the chance for someone else to stake a claim for a regular place.

"We will miss Max but the good thing with this squad is that everyone is in the firing line waiting to come in and its a chance for someone else to show what they can do."

The Verdict

Westbrooke is right to suggest that Coventry need to start finding more goals from other areas of the pitch in the absence of both Godden and Biamou, and the Sky Blues could well be reliant on one of their midfielders or defenders stepping up in Saturday's meeting with Colchester.

Biamou has returned to fitness in recent weeks and made a real positive impact for Coventry, and having picked up a suspension for the trip to Colchester, Coventry will need some of their fringe players to deliver.

Mark Robins will be hopeful that Coventry's squad can play their part - to give him a decision to make as he welcomes some regulars back in the coming weeks.
