Nottingham Forest defender Yuri Ribeiro has delivered a message on social media that Reds supporters will be thrilled with, following Forest's 1-0 win against rivals Derby County on Saturday.

Ribeiro was instrumental in helping the Reds' secure the vital three points against Derby at the City Ground, which helped Forest establish a seven point gap over their rivals, with the defender ensuring that Sabri Lamouchi's side were able to remain solid in defence throughout as they recorded a clean sheet.

The 22-year-old has established himself as Forest's first choice left-back in the last few weeks, keeping fellow defender Jack Robinson out of the side during the last two matches, which have seen Lamouchi's side secure back to back wins to cement their place in the play-offs.

The defender, who arrived from Portuguese side Benfica in the summer transfer window, has shown he has the ability to both add solidity to defence and the ability to get forwards on the overlap to support attacks, and he will aiming to continue his recent form to keep his place in the starting XI.

Ribeiro shared a message to Nottingham Forest supporters on his personal Twitter, showing himself celebrating with the rest of his team-mates during the win against Derby on Saturday, saying: "It's in my veins."

The Verdict

Nottingham Forest supporters are certainly beginning to warm to Ribeiro due to his ever-improving performances on the pitch for Lamouchi's side during the last few weeks, and his latest message will have only enhanced his reputation with the Reds' faithful.

The defender has had to show some real battling spirit to stake a claim for a starting place at left-back ahead of Robinson, who has predominantly been used as Lamouchi's first choice in that position during the first few months of the season, but following the 2-1 defeat at home to Hull, Ribiero has been given his chance.

Given the Reds picked up a first clean sheet in three matches on Saturday, it is likely that Ribeiro will be retaining his place in the starting line-up following the end of the international break, and he will be hoping to continue his recent momentum.
