Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa will soon be able to enjoy selecting from a full complement of strikers, with Patrick Bamford returning from long term injury.

With both Bamford and Kemar Roofe available for selection, the chances for Tyler Roberts look slim, despite proving to be an able deputy when he stepped up to the starting XI.

So does Tyler Roberts have a part to play in the Leeds side this season?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

Not a chance, you've got to feel sorry for him.

Once Patrick Bamford is fit, and Kemar Roofe retains his availability – it will be the two of them fighting it out for the top stop.

Failing that, he could be an option in a wider position if Samuel Saiz goes, but in the striker positions I see a two-man shoot-out for the starting berth, and it won’t involve Tyler Roberts.

George Harbey

I think with Roofe firing on all cylinders and Bamford set to return, I can’t see Roberts playing a part.

Bielsa’s men have also been linked with numerous strikers, and I think Roberts will have to settle for a place in the reserves unfortunately.

Gary Hutchinson

Not a big part, no.

The sensible decision is to loan him out to another club, League One perhaps, and get some senior games under his belt.

Add a recall clause just in case and everyone is a winner.

There’re 20 clubs in League One and 24 in League Two who would take him tomorrow.
