Charlton Athletic defender Naby Sarr has been called-up to the Senegal squad for the first time this week, and Addicks fans believe it's a well-deserved accomplishment for the 26-year-old.

Senegal face DR Congo and Eswatini in their African Cup of Nations qualification games this month, where Charlton’s Naby Sarr will look to make his international debut.

Sarr had previously featured for France at under-20 and under-21 level, but has chosen to represent Senegal at senior level.

Born in Marseille, France, Sarr is of Senegalese descent and a graduate of the Olympique Lyonnais academy.

He struggled to break into the first-team in France and moved to Portugal to play for Sporting CP where the story was again the same.

Charlton was his next destination, and the centre-back has become a fan favourite at The Valley as he approaches 100 games for the club.
