Ipswich Town endured a difficult season last year, limping to mid-table obscurity as well as a shock FA Cup exit to Lincoln City, with manager Mick McCarthy coming under massive pressure as many fans called for the former Republic of Ireland boss’ head.

Waghorn has proven himself to be an extremely astute signing, with the former Sunderland man able to boast ten goals and four assists already this semester.

The 27-year-old added another during the 4-2 win over Forest on Saturday, with the result providing Ipswich with the second best attacking record in the division with 35 goals.
