‘Your whole performance was outstanding’ – Sheffield United fans react to star man’s message

Sheffield United bounced back to winning ways on Saturday afternoon with a hard-fought victory over Yorkshire rivals Leeds United at Bramall Lane.
The Blades took an early lead through striker Billy Sharp’s wonder goal, before being pegged back early in the second half by German Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s striker.
Sharp, a hero in this part of Yorkshire, bagged the winner in the 73rd minute after cooly converting from the spot, with his two strikes marking his 200th and 201st goals in English league football.
A remarkable record, the 32-year-old has proven himself to be one of the most consistent strikers in the English game since breaking into the first-team set up with the Blades back in 2004, before rejoining the club in 2015.
Sharp shared his delight with a post on Twitter, with fans taking to the social media site to praise the forward for his performance…
Not a bad effort our kid. Bout time eh ⚽️????

Well done Billy lad, top professional, top striker and a great bloke! Like me, the majority love you at Leeds, sadly things never worked out at Elland road for you but you deserve to be scoring goals for your boyhood club. Ooohhhhh Billy Billy..!! ????????

Made wilder look foolish for ever dropping you. With u on the pitch we would have beat villa. Without u we would have lost to Leeds, no one other than you would have scored that first. Leon has been lazy and has played the big I am for past 4 or 5 games. Needs resting.
