Aston Villa look set to launch an all-out assault on the promotion places under Dean Smith, as he looks to turn around what was set to be a dreadful season. 

Under Steve Bruce the West Midlands club were languishing closer to the relegation zone than the play-off places, but things appear to be on the mend now.

A 3-0 win against Derby County last weekend at Pride Park made it three wins from Smith's first five games and moved them to within four points of the play-off places.

It is the least the fans expected after some of the names signed by the club in the summer.

Yannick Bolasie, Tammy Abraham, John McGinn and Anwar El Ghazi were four big names to move to Villa Park, but even they had been struggling to deliver in the opening stages of the season.

Whilst the others appear to be reaching their best now, El Ghazi is still yet to reach the heights expected of him. But he is not giving up, which is evident in his latest social media activity:

He impressed on his debut after moving from Lille on an initial loan, but has since fallen down the pecking order at the club behind the likes of Bolasie, as well as Jonathan Kodjia and Ahmed Elmohamady.
