This season, Derby County are undoubtedly struggling defensively. With this poor defensive run in mind, supporters have had their say on who they think the club’s best defenders have been over the past 10 years.

This season, the usual back four has consisted of Scott Malone, Matt Clarke, Curtis Davies and Jayden Bogle. Ultimately, Derby have struggled since the beginning of the 19/20 campaign and conceded 20 goals already after 14 matches played – six more than they have managed to score.

After those 14 games, the Rams have given away four penalties in what has been a difficult start for new manager Philip Cocu. All this has meant that the Rams sit in 16th place - six points off of the play-off places where they are surely wanting to be.

So, who do Derby supporters miss the most and think have been the best defenders they’ve seen since the turn of the new century?

The question was asked on Twitter....

And the supporters answered, with a few of the same names popping up in most of the responses.
