According to reports from the East Anglian Daily Times, newly-promoted Premier League side Norwich City are weighing up a raid on bitter rivals Ipswich Town for Andre Dozzell.

Daniel Farke's side have been relatively active in the summer transfer market thus far upon their return to the top-flight, however this signing would raise eyebrows more than any other addition.

Dozzell has been an impressive player for Ipswich over the last few years, and Paul Lambert's side will undoubtedly be desperate to keep him ahead of their 2019/20 League One campaign.

Discussing this potential transfer deal in further addition is FLW writer George Harbey...

What's Dozzell's situation at Portman Road?

"Dozzell's future at Ipswich Town is looking somewhat certain this summer, with the midfielder's contract set to expire next summer.

"This means that Ipswich may look to resist selling him this summer, before letting him leave potentially on a free transfer this time next year.

"Or, they can cut their losses and receive a fee for him this summer, but letting his contract run down like this has been terrible business in my view.

"Brighton and Hove Albion have already showed interest according to reports, but now it looks as if the Canaries want him."

Can you see why Norwich want him?

"It's clear to see why Norwich want a player like Dozzell in their squad - he's an energetic, box-to-box midfielder who would suit Daniel Farke's system to a tee.

"It feels like he has been around for years, but he's still only 20 years of age, and everybody knows what the youth setup is like at Carrow Road.

"The likes of Max Aarons, Jamal Lewis and Ben Godfrey have all flourished under Farke, so there is no reason to suggest why Dozzell couldn't do the same."

What's the view from the Ipswich camp?

"Ipswich manager Paul Lambert has remained calm about this transfer speculation.

"Despite Dozzell's contract running out next summer, the Scot has insisted that it would still have to take a lot of money to lure him away from Portman Road this summer, especially to their bitter rivals.

"He said: "Dozzell's been playing really well but if a Premier League club comes knocking then it would have to be a hell of a lot of money. You would have to spend a lot of money."

Is he ready for the Premier League?

"There is no reason to suggest why Dozzell couldn't cut it in the Premier League and play for a team like Norwich, who, let's be honest, will be looking to fight for survival this season.

"It wasn't too long ago that the likes of Liverpool were chasing his signature, so the Reds clearly saw something in the man who has made over 30 appearances for the Tractor Boys.

"He's quality with the ball at his feet, and could definitely suit the high-paced football in the Premier League."

How much is he worth in today's market?

"With his contract set to run out next summer, it's hard to put a price tag on Dozzell, but by all accounts, Paul Lambert won't sell him for peanuts.

"Ipswich fans will surely be looking for £2m at the very least, but whether that valuation is wide of the mark remains to be seen.

"Every player has a price, though, and Norwich could definitely tempt Ipswich into selling. You wouldn't expect Stuart Webber to pay over the odds, though."

Finally, can you see him leaving?

"It's a really tricky situation for Dozzell and Ipswich this summer.

"On one hand, he could stay at Portman Road and be a hero for them in helping them win promotion from League One at the first time of asking.

"But realistically, you wouldn't blame him for leaving, given how well Farke has worked with young players, and the fact that they are a Premier League club for the time being."
