Brighton moved to top spot on Tuesday, taking over the reigns from everyone's title favourite, Newcastle United.

The Seagulls have opened up a two-point point gap to The Magpies, and with the Magpies to visit the AMEX in a few weeks, Brighton will be seeking to extend the gap.

The coming weeks before that top of the table clash will be crucial for Chirs Hughton's men, who are really keeping the pace with their illustrious rivals.

Brighton strolled to a comfortable 3-0 victory over QPR to claim top spot, with Sam Baldock getting the ball rolling for the Seagulls with a fine left-footed strike.

Top goal scorer, Glenn Murray, extended their lead from the spot, before a dubious red card for Nedum Onuoha effectively ended the game as a contest.

Anthony Knockaert rounded off a great day for the Seagulls by making it three, to end any lingering hopes QPR had of getting back in the game.
