Ipswich Town will be looking to get themselves back on track under the guidance of Paul Cook after the former Portsmouth boss took over as  manager from the departed Paul Lambert who left the club recently. 

The ex-Wigan Athletic man has already admitted that promotion has to be the target for the Tractor Boys who are looking to end their Championship exile at the second time of asking after falling short of the top six places in League One last season.

After losing to Gillingham at the weekend, the East Anglian side will be seeking to get back on track against both Lincoln City and Plymouth Argyle in back to back home games under their new boss.

The former Town centre back now plies his trade for Colchester United in League Two at the age of 30 and will be seeking to see out what are likely to be the final few years of his career with the U's before hanging up his boots after what has been a successful spell at Football League level with various clubs.

The Irish striker now turns out for first tier side Waterford in his native country after taking in spells with Nottingham Forest, Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United after departing Portman Road back in the summer of 2016.

The former Tractor Boys striker originally departed the club back in July 2009 and went on to play a key role for Milton Keynes during a lengthy spell with the Buckinghamshire side. After a spell with Northampton Town, the frontman now plies his trade for Stowmarket Town in non-league.

An experienced marksman at various levels of the English game, Stead has been around the block since departing Ipswich and currently turns out for Harrogate Town in Sky Bet League Two at the age of 37.

Another name who will be well known to many fans of the Football League, Pitman has been a prominent figure for much of his career due to his goalscoring exploits and currently plays for Swindon Town in League One as they battle to avoid the drop.

The former Town striker now also turns out for Colchester United al0ongside Tommy Smith and is still seeking to make an impact at EFL level at the ripe old age of 29, with the player still having a few years left in his legs.

Something of a shadow striker at Football League level, Clarke has gone on to carve out a good career for himself with current side Bradford City and has now settled after originally departing Portman Road all the way back in 2009.

A centre forward who left the Tractor Boys back in 2017 for Burton Albion, Varney is remarkably still playing at League One level for the Brewers at the age of 38 and will be seeking to help his side stay in the division under the watchful eye of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink who has returned to the club for a second spell.
