Birmingham City have had some wonderful players over the years.

While the Blues are struggling at the moment it's important that supporters don't forget some of the talented players that have graced St Andrews over the years.

But some are more fondly remembered than others.

On occasion a player will go on to play at the highest level however others simply drift away and now find themselves playing in random corners of the football world.

Here are eight former Blues and where they are playing currently.

The midfielder left Birmingham City in 2011 after securing a move to Sunderland.

Now 35, Larsson is playing for Swedish side AIK where he went on to win the league title.

The defender moved to the Blues in 2014 and enjoyed several years at St Andrews.

Grounds left the club last year and now plays in League One with Swindon Town.

The winger spent three years with Birmingham City in the noughties in a spell which was regarded as the prime years of his career.

Cotterill now plays for Welsh side Barry Town United whom he joined in 2020.

The forward spent four successful years with the Blues in between spells with Coventry City.

Now 38 McSheffrey plays his football for Yorkshire side Rossington Main.

The winger secured a big move to Leicester City where he's spent the last few years playing at the highest level.

However with first team opportunities proving hard to come by this term Gray is currently out on loan with German side Bayer Leverkusen.

The defender spent time with the Blues before going on to join Middlesbrough.

After leaving the Riverside Stadium Shotton now plays in Australia with Melbourne Victory.

The versatile star joined the Blues from Middlesbrough in 2017.

Since then he has gone on to play for Cypriot side APOEL where he is currently playing his football.

His time with the club didn't exactly go to plan but James Vaughan has really kicked on since.

The striker is now with Tranmere Rovers where he is banging in goals for fun in League Two.
