AFC Bournemouth have grown exponentially because of their five-year stint in the Premier League, but you can't forget where they've come from in the last 15 years.

At one point, the Cherries were struggling in League Two and were close to going out of business, but they were saved at the last minute, and within six years they were in England's top flight after three promotions.

It's easy to remember the players like Callum Wilson and Josh King who fired in the goals in recent years, but let's look at others who have played for the club in years gone by and see where they have ended up.

Hollands was picked up from Chelsea in 2006 as a 20-year-old, and in a five-year spell at Dean Court he became a key figure for the club, sticking with them following their relegation to League Two.

He did eventually leave in 2011 after making 193 league appearances, and in 2017 he signed for non-league Eastleigh, where he has been ever since.

Hollands was actually a prolific scorer last season at the age of 34, scoring 10 times from midfield in a curtailed National League season, and he still clearly has seasons left in his legs.

A passionate man on the pitch, Boruc was a regular for three seasons at Dean Court before dropping down to being a back-up stopper.

Boruc is still going strong at the age of 41, and departed the Cherries in the summer for his homeland, signing for Legia Warsaw and becoming their first-choice stopper.

A Cherries academy graduate, McQuoid was a particular success in his final season of his first stint at the club in 2010-11, scoring nine goals in 17 League One games before securing a move to Millwall of the Championship.

McQuoid eventually returned to the south coast in 2012 but he never replicated his form from his first stint, and by 2017 he had dropped into non-league.

He joined Weymouth in 2018 and has helped guide the club to back-to-back promotions from the Southern League to the National League - he's also been a regular this season and has scored five times.

Like McQuoid, Fogden was a Bournemouth player during the League One days in the early 2010's, signing from Havant & Waterlooville in non-league and becoming a regular for the Cherries three levels up.

Fogden was clearly only seen as a lower league player though, with Eddie Howe not using him in the Championship in the 2013/14 campaign and he went on to play in League Two for Portsmouth and Yeovil.

He's now in the National League South with Dorking Wanderers, having signed for the club in October 2020.

A lot was expected of Rantie upon his arrival from Malmo in 2013, with the Cherriers forking out a club record £2.5 million for the South African.

He never really became a regular though under Eddie Howe, and ended up departing in 2016.

Rantie had been unattached since the summer, having left Mamelodi Sundowns but he's become fixed up recently again in his home nation with a top flight side in Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

Once a highly-rated player for Derby County who was capped for England at under-21 level, Addison joined the Cherries on loan in 2012 before making the move permanent.

Addison appeared regularly in his first full season for Bournemouth but a foot injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season turned out to be his downfall - he never won back his place in the team in the next two years.

Addison has found himself in non-league for the last few years, and signed for Stratford Town in October 2020.

A mercurial talent out on the wing, Gradel made a £7 million move to Bournemouth in 2015 following their promotion to the Premier League.

The Ivorian wasn't a success for the Cherries though, injuring his knee just a few weeks after arriving and found regular minutes hard to come by.

After a spell at Toulouse in Ligue One, Gradel now plays in Turkey for Sivasspor where he's absolutely flying, netting eight goals and eight assists in 25 league games so far in Turkey's top flight.

Bournemouth plucked Bartley from non-league in 2007, and he went on to make 113 league appearances for them before he joined Eddie Howe at Burnley in 2011.

Unlike a few of the Cherries players from that era, Bartley hasn't dropped into the lower reaches of the game and has continued to play at a decent level, signing for Scottish Premiership side Livingston in 2019, captaining the side and is still a regular starter at the age of 34.
