West Ham secured their status as a Premier League club this season, and will be looking to kick on next season and battle in the higher echelons on the table.

While we wait for the 2020/21 campaign to get underway, we've been scouring the globe to find five former West Ham players whose current clubs may surprise you...

The winger made nearly 100 appearances for the Hammers during a four-year spell at the East London club.

Jarvis left to join Norwich City in January 2016 and after spending three years with the Canaries, became a free agent last summer.

In February, the 34-year-old, who has more than 200 Premier League appearances to his name, signed with National League side Woking but had featured for them just twice before the delay to football.

Diame joined West Ham on a free transfer in 2012 and spent two years in the heart of the Hammers midfield before making the switch to Hull City.

After a few seasons with the Tigers, the central midfielder joined Newcastle United – helping them to secure Premier League promotion during his debut campaign at the club.

Two terms in the top flight would follow before the Senegal international joined Stars League side Al Ahli last summer.

The 32-year-old has made 17 appearances for the Qatari outfit this term.

The Italian's time with West Ham was short but he was effective – as he grabbed eight goals and five assists in his single season with the club.

The majority of Diamanti's career has been spent in his native Italy, bar brief spells in England and China, but he can now be found at A-League outfit Western United.

The 30-year-old joined the Australian club last summer and has hit the ground running – scoring five times and providing seven assists in 19 games this term.

Ba is perhaps best known in England for his time with Chelsea and Newcastle United but it was the Hammers that gave him his first taste of Premier League football.

The striker scored seven goals in 13 appearances for West Ham in the 2010/11 season before joining Newcastle.

The 35-year-old currently plays for Turkish Super Lig side Istanbul Basaksehir, having moved their last January.

Ba seems to be enjoying his time with the club, having scored 14 goals and added seven assists in his 37 games for them.

A product of the West Ham academy, Spence made just 10 appearances for the Hammers before his permanent exit in 2014.

Spells at MK Dons and Ipswich Town have followed but the full-back is currently plying his trade in the Eredivisie with ADO Den Haag, having joined them as a free agent in January.

Spence made four appearances for the Dutch side before the season was cut short.
