Watford will be preparing for a season in the Championship after they suffered relegation to the second tier.

Over the years there have been ups and downs at Vicarage Road, which have naturally led to the club having a host of players pass through the doors.

Some have had success at Watford and beyond, but others might not have and have ended up at some obscure places.

That leads us down the path of identifying a handful of players whose current destination might well surprise you.

Take a look…

Guedioura made a name for himself in England during his spells with Nottingham Forest, Watford, Wolves, Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace.

He was a talented midfield player and left the English game recently on the back of a second spell at Forest.

Now, he’s with Al-Gharafa and playing his football in Qatar.

Nyom spent a season with Watford before moving onto West Brom for a period of time.

It wasn’t until last season that the right-back cuts ties with Nyom, who is now with Getafe.

La Liga is where he’s now featuring.

Diagouraga was a player that made little impact at Watford, but the midfielder, now 32, forged a decent career for himself in England.

Brentford and Leeds United were two high-profile destinations, but now he’s with Morecambe, still in the Football League.

Like Diagouraga, O’Nien’s impact with Watford was limited and he eventually made a name for himself in the EFL with Wycombe Wanderers.

That has earned him a move to Sunderland, where O’Nien currently plays.

The midfielder’s ambition will be to lead the Black Cats to promotion from League One.

What Young has gone on to achieve in his career on the back of playing for Watford is seriously impressive.

He’s played for Aston Villa and Manchester United for a sustained period in the Premier League, whilst also helping England to the World Cup semi-finals in 2018.

Now, he’s moved abroad and is with Inter Milan, with the versatile 34-year-old, approaching the end of a glittering career.
