Southampton have had their fair share of players that have come and gone at St Mary's Stadium over the years, with some making the step up to more reputable clubs. 

The Saints have enjoyed a stellar run of form lately, with Hassenhuttl really getting the best out of the current squad.

We take a look at FIVE former Southampton players, who you might be surprised by as to where they're playing their football nowadays.

Hammond spent three seasons with Southampton and was part of the team that won promotion into the Championship in the 2010/11 campaign.

But he retired from his playing career in 2017 after a spell with Leicester City.

However, he has since turned back on that decision, and signed for Isthmian League Premier Division side Worthing, although he is yet to play a match for them given the off-the-field situation.

Puncheon had a successful four-season spell with Southampton, as they won promotion into the Championship, and then the Premier League soon after.

The midfielder left the club permanently in January 2014 when he signed for Crystal Palace but his career has taken an interesting turn since.

Puncheon left Crystal Palace in the summer of 2019, and is now playing his football for Cypriot side Pafos.

James came through Southampton's youth system, and went on to feature for the first team on a regular basis.

He was released after the 2010/11 season though, and later went on to join Colchester United.

After various spells at a number of EFL clubs, he is now playing his football for Vanarama National League South club Bath City.

It's safe to say that Caulker's career has taken an interesting turn nowadays.

The central defender made eight appearances for Southampton in a loan spell during the 2015/16 season from QPR.

But the 28-year-old is now playing for Turkish side Alanyaspor, which is a club he has been with since January 2019.

Dickson spent three seasons with Southampton, and played his part in their promotion-winning season into the Championship.

But he struggled with game time in the last two seasons with the Saints, and was sent out on loan to the likes of Yeovil Town and Bradford City.

He left the club in the summer of 2013 after injury problems, and is now with Vanarama National League side Torquay United, and has spent this season on loan with Truro City.
