Transfer deadline day is probably the most exciting day in the footballing calendar for every single supporter across the country - a day which can cause delight, anger and stress as deals materialise all over the country right up until the chimes of Big Ben.

Deadline day in the summer of the 2014/15 season was an extremely eventful one for Leeds United, who were very active on the final day of the window - signing Dario Del Fabro, Brian Montenegro and Souleymane Doukara, after a torrid start to the campaign.

Nevertheless, Leeds fans were still eager for the club to make further additions, and were still waiting for that final marquee signing, the signing that could help turn the Whites' fortunes around under caretaker manager Neil Redfearn, after winning just two of their opening five games in the Championship.

And, after a long, stressful day of waiting for that announcement, the tweet from the club finally came:

So, with just an hour to spare until the window slammed shut, Leeds fans were waiting in anticipation, for that exciting, final signing that would complete their squad, and complete what had been a busy day at Elland Road.

Therefore, imagine the uproar when the club then announced that out-of-favour striker Dominic Poleon had signed for League One side Oldham Athletic, concluding their summer transfer business.

It's a gaffe that, to this day, is still joked about at Elland Road, and will live long in the memory for both the right and the wrong reasons. Fast forward four-and-a-half years, Leeds fans will be praying that they can make some more signings, after being reasonably quiet this month as they look to push for the Premier League.
