Sunderland head into their fixture with lowly Bolton Wanderers this weekend on the back of a run of two games without defeat in the league, with the Wearside outfit scoring four and conceding two in the process. 

Despite their brilliant form, Sunderland haven't been the best defensively this season, with the Black Cats conceding 10 goals in their first eight league games, putting them amongst the worst defences in the top half of the current League One table as manager Jack Ross looks to gain promotion at the second attempt this term.

Many Sunderland fans would be expecting manager Jack Ross to be relishing the prospect of playing a youthful Bolton Wanderers side who have already conceded 23 goals so far this term in what has been a turbulent season for the Trotters.
