Cardiff City were handed an early FA Cup exit yesterday afternoon, after Neil Warnock’s side were dumped out of the competition by Premier League leaders Manchester City at The Cardiff City Stadium.

First half goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling put the game beyond all doubt in the first period, with the Bluebirds failing to seriously threaten their far superior rivals on the day.

Pep Guardiola’s side will advance to the next round, but could be without winger Leroy Sane, after the German was forced off at half time following a reckless challenge from Cardiff defender, Joe Bennett.

Bennett was booked for the incident but later given his marching orders following a second nasty challenge on Brahim Diaz, and took to Twitter to declare that no malice was intended in the horror tackle on Sane.

Fans were quick to have their say on the player’s defence…
