QPR's Charlie Austin took to Twitter last night to praise fellow striker Lyndon Dykes after his late winner and many fans have been quick to urge him to join them permanently.

Austin rejoined the R's on loan from West Bromwich Albion in January – five years after leaving the club to join Southampton – and has been a key figure in their impressive run over the past few months.

The 31-year-old came off the bench in the 1-0 win against Swansea City yesterday but it was his strike partner that hammered in a late winner at the Liberty Stadium.

He took to Twitter after the game to praise Dykes, who has now scored six times and added two assists in his last seven games.

Austin's future remains unclear as his loan deal is up at the end of the season and then his contract with West Brom expires in June.

That would seem to pave the way for a permanent move to the R's in the summer but agreeing terms could be an issue.

According to Salary Sport, Austin earns £52,000-per-week on his current deal at Albion – four times the largest wage in the QPR squad.

Even so, it seems fans of the club are keen for him to join permanently, with many taking to Twitter to urge him to do so in response to his recent post.
