Nottingham Forest manager Martin O'Neill will be hoping to finalise his squad for the coming season shortly, with pre-season a matter of weeks away as he looks to assemble a side capable of a top-six finish in the Championship next season.

One player though who will not be in O'Neill's ranks is striker Hillal Soudani who looks to be heading to Greece to link up with Olympiacos, a club also owned by Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.

But with Soudani in Greece for a medical, are Forest right to be letting the 31-year-old leave?

We discuss........

Toby Wilding

"I don't think they are.

"Although he showed flashes of promises, Soudani didn't really get the game time he would have expected at The City Ground last season, so he may not be missed too much at the club.

"Forest have a large squad as it is, so they will need to move players along in the transfer window if they are to have the capacity to strengthen their side for next season, so moving along a player such as Soudani - likely to Olympiacos, with whom Forest have links to build on - may not be the worst idea."

Kealan Hughes

"Soudani made only eight appearances last season so he will not be a loss to Forest.

"Martin O'Neill did not consider him part of his first team plans when he came in and that looks unlikely to change, so Forest are better off selling him and recouping some of the £3m they spent on him.

"However, if Lolley leaves then they could find themselves short of right-wingers, and Soudani would be one of their only remaining options in that position. He must have something about him for Forest to have signed him in the first place and he does deserve more of an opportunity to show what he is capable of."

Gary Hutchinson

“No, not at all.

“You have to feel sorry for him in a way; he didn’t get a great chance and got injured as well.

“even when he was fit though, I saw nothing that suggested he was Championship material.

“They’ll need to clear the wage bill for yet another rebuild so it makes sense to move him on.”

Louie Chandler

"Not for me.

"I thought this was a pretty bizarre signing at the time and after an injury hit first campaign I have not exactly been proven wrong.

"Martin O'Neill would not have been the first choice of many Forest fans but it is important that they and the club's board back him this summer.

"If he does not want him at the City Ground then there is little point in keeping him there."
