Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has moved to correct the notion that he suggested appointing former boss Thomas Christiansen was a mistake, after responding to an article released by BBC Look North on Twitter.

The Italian took the decision to part ways with the Dane on Sunday following Saturday’s humbling home defeat to promotion chasing Cardiff City, with Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom his replacement at Elland Road.

In an interview with Sky Sports News via BBC Sport, Christiansen told reporters that ‘if we haven’t been successful it means it was a mistake’, with many misconstruing his comments as the Italian insisting that Christiansen’s appointment was a mistake.

However Radrizzani has moved to clarify his comments, insisting that he wishes the manager and his staff all the best for the future.
