Paul Heckingbottom continues to run the rule over his Leeds United squad, identifying the players he wants to take forward into next season.

Leeds find themselves in a disappointing position in the Sky Bet Championship, with the play-offs out of reach and a mid-table finish now a certainty in early May.

The Whites have just two victories to their name in 2018, with Leeds’ playing squad coming in for huge criticism in recent months.

Heckingbottom has told the Yorkshire Evening Post he is still making decisions on who to take forward into next season, insisting he is giving players the chance to impress before the summer comes around.

There are certainly members of Heckingbottom’s squad not pulling their weight, with last Friday’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa highlighting a complete lack of effort from some players.

With that in mind, we take a closer look at Heckingbottom’s squad, identifying THREE players we believe don’t see eye to eye with their head-coach…

Cibicki is firmly on the fringe at Elland Road, with the forward not yet featuring under Heckingbottom.

Leeds’ supporters were reasonably impressed by the 24-year-old’s impact around the festive period, and it has been a surprise not to see him since late January.

Heckingbottom’s reluctance to hand Cibicki a chance suggests there is something no quite right between the two.

When Heckingbottom first arrived, Lasogga looked a rejuvenated character, but in recent weeks, he has really disappointed.

The German’s effort from the bench at Villa Park was abysmal, with Heckingbottom frustrated by the contribution of the man he sent on to get Leeds back into the game.

Wiedwald was firstly axed from the starting XI and replaced by Bailey Peacock-Farrell, before he was axed again, this time from the matchday 18.

Andy Lonergan has been preferred as No. 2 in recent weeks, leaving Wiedwald out altogether.

Of course, that decision has been form-based, but it isn’t hard to imagine that Wiedwald will be frustrated by Heckingbottom’s decision.
