Reading’s new manager Mark Bowen has put out his first interview since taking over at the Berkshire outfit.
Bowen stated that he needs the supporters’ and players backing in order to succeed as he becomes the new manager of the Royals.
It was a somewhat surprise appointment from Reading who gave the job to someone who is yet to have any experience as a first-team manager. The Welshman has been assistant to former Premier League boss Mark Hughes at a few different clubs, and has a vast amount of coaching experience.
Bowen was the Sporting Director at Reading before being given the full-time job and many supporters have voiced their displeasure in the appointment.
Reading take on high-flying Preston on Saturday, and will be hoping to get a crucial victory, and a first for new boss Bowen.
Here’s how Royals fans reacted to the message sent out by new manager Bowen on Monday afternoon…
You don’t have our backing. Snake. #Bowenout

You lost the fans when you sacked someone just to take his job

You don’t have any backing anyway

Please cut all the spin and stop contemptuously treating the fans like idiots, then.
