David Wagner is no longer set to become the new Head Coach of West Bromwich Albion, according to Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett.

The Baggies remain on the lookout for a new manager after Sam Allardyce left the club at the end of the season, following relegation from the Premier League.

The man to replace Allardyce looked to be David Wagner, with the German reportedly in advanced talks to take the job this week.

Wagner looked set to be appointed ahead of Chris Wilder, despite the board unanimously identifying the latter as their number one target.

But according to Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett, Wagner will no longer become the new Head Coach of West Brom, in what is a big managerial twist.

Instead, Wagner looks set to be appointed as the new manager of BSC Young Boys over in Switzerland, after deciding that he wants to be closer to his family.

It is claimed by Dorsett that Albion wanted assurances of Wagner’s appetite for a promotion battle, but a move to bring him to the Hawthorns now seems to have broken down.
