Middlesbrough made it four wins from five matches this season, as they moved top of the Championship table following a 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion on Friday night.

Tony Pulis’ side were victorious courtesy of an injury time strike from Daniel Ayala, but it was the West Ham United loanee Jordan Hugill who received the biggest cheer of the evening.

Born in Middlesbrough, the 26-year-old forward came off the bench to make his debut for his boyhood club.

Hugill took to Twitter to express his delight at stepping out at the Riverside Stadium:

The forward, who joined Boro on a season-long loan deal from the Hammers, came on as a substitute in the 81st minute of the game, and was present in the box during the match winning goal from Ayala in added time.
