Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has missed out on Swiss midfielder Steven Zuber after it was confirmed on the VfB Stuttgart club website that the 27-year-old had joined them from Hoffenheim on loan for the remainder of he season.

It had been reported in The Mirror that Leeds were keen to sign the talented player from Hoffenheim, despite his hefty price-tag, but shortly afterwards Zuber joined Bundesliga strugglers Stuttgart instead.

So how big a blow is missing out on Zuber for Leeds?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

"It's a blow in as much as they have wasted their time.

"I think they would be better off bringing in a winger who is proven in the Championship, even if it is just until the end of the season.

"But they will now need to identify a new target."

Jay Taylor

“You can’t miss what you never had, so I don’t see it as too much of a blow.

"Bielsa will now just be on the look-out for another player to add to his side; he is not naïve enough to have only had Zuber on his radar.

"I am sure there are more than enough players on his transfer wish list and some fans would be happier they sign than Zuber.”

Gary Hutchinson

"Depends if they were actually after him, like most of the targets they get lumped in with.

"I like Zuber, he’s a good player with a lot to offer, but if Leeds had wanted him the noises from Elland Road would have been significant.

"They do need players though."
