Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has received a blow after forward Isaac Vassell was ruled out for six to eight weeks with a thigh injury, as confirmed on the official club Twitter account.

The 26-year-old, was signed from Birmingham in the summer and has scored once in three appearances, with Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock stating: "I'm really disappointed for Isaac, who'd been training ever so well with us these past few weeks,

"It's a setback, but it's up to him to put the work into his rehabilitation now and come back to the group stronger."

How big of a blow is this for Vassell after yet another injury? Do you sympathise with the striker?

We discuss........

George Brooks

"This is a major blow for Vassell. You can't help but feel a bit sorry for him. He missed almost half of last season due to injury and he'd only just returned to action.

"He's now set to face another lengthy spell on the sidelines and that must be hugely frustrating for him.

"He's shown signs of real promise for Cardiff so far and he could be a good signing for the Bluebirds, but it seems as though injuries could restrict the impact he's able to make for the club.

"Hopefully he's able to make an impact when he returns from his setback and get his season back on track."

Toby Wilding

"I do have a lot of sympathy for Vassell here.

"It seems ass though the striker was having some difficulty making an impact at Cardiff anyway following his summer move, and this is obviously not going to help him.

"With Vassell out of the side for so long, it gives another summer signing, Robert Glatzel, the chance to really establish himself as Cardiff's go-to man upfront for the foreseeable future, making it hard for Vassell to force his way back into the side even when he does return to fitness.

"Given his record with injuries, you also have to wonder just how willing Cardiff or other clubs may be to even take a chance on him in the future, considering the strain on the side those injury problems could bring."

Ben Lang

"Definitely. He would have been hoping for a fresh start following his move for Cardiff, so this update will have come as a considerable setback.

"He has never really been able to get a prolonged run of games due to his injury troubles, so you get the feeling that he's never been able to find rhythm to his game.

"However, Cardiff will have been aware of his troubles before they decided to sign him, and this situation would have also been a high possibility.

"Vassell now needs to put all his effort into getting back to full fitness as this time frame is not season-defining, and it's possible he could be back on the training pitch in the not too distant future"
