Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder knows his side need to get promotion to the Premier League if he is to have any chance of holding onto his loan goalkeeper Dean Henderson, after Manchester United insisted that the 22-year-old needs to be playing in the top-flight next season, according to a report in the Sun on Sunday (March 17, page 57).

Henderson has been in excellent form in his 38 appearances for the Blades this season, and has played a large part in Wilder's side making a real challenge for an automatic promotion spot this season.

So are Man United right to be wanting their man to be playing Premier League football next season?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

“Yes, but here’s the thing; if they want him in the PL, why not play him?

“Or, give the lad a move and let him establish himself as a top keeper.

“I hate this loaning culture.

“I hope he gets promoted with the Blades and stays there next season.”

Jacob Potter

"He definitely should be playing in the top flight.

"Henderson has been in excellent form this season and I can see him playing in the Premier League next season.

"He’ll surely join Sheffield United permanently if they are to win promotion this season."

George Harbey

"You can’t blame them really.

"Henderson has proved himself at League Two, League One and Championship level now, and for the benefit of his career, it’s only right that he tests himself in the Premier League.

"Just look how well Angus Gunn has done since joining Southampton."

Jay Taylor

“I think it is more than fair considering how he has done this year.

“Henderson has been phenomenal and will shine on the biggest stage.

“The Man Utd man is destined for bigger things and will be a man in demand in the summer.”
