Derby County are flying high in the Sky Bet Championship, with Gary Rowett’s men holding on to the second automatic promotion spot by the skin of their teeth.
With Aston Villa and Cardiff City in hot pursuit, Rowett utilised the January transfer window to bolster his squad with several additions, with Chelsea youngster Kasey Palmer the final man through the doors of Pride Park on deadline day.
The 21-year-old joins the Rams after his season-long loan deal with Huddersfield Town was cancelled, following the player’s inability to break into the starting XI at The Johns Smith’s Stadium this term.
Palmer secured promotion with the Terriers whilst on loan in West Yorkshire last season, and Rowett will hope the England U21 international can inspire his side to a long-awaited Premier League return.
The player took to Twitter to declare his excitement at completing a switch to the East Midlands, with fans quick to have their say on the player’s arrival…

Good luck Kasey. If you can recapture the form you had for Town last season then you can get Derby promoted single handed
