Nottingham Forest legend Peter Shilton has recently come out and spoken on Twitter about the imminent appointment of former teammate Martin O'Neill as the club's new manager.

Reports on Monday morning surfaced that the 66-year-old is set to become the new manager of the East Midlands club - a club he knows well, having played over 285 times for the Reds, helping them lift the European Cup twice during his ten-year stint with the club.

There is no doubting that O'Neill, who has been out of work since November since his departure from the Republic of Ireland national team, would lift the spirits at the City Ground after a few turbulent weeks, but there have been question marks raised by Forest fans regarding the imminent appointment of the experienced manager.

The club had been linked with former Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic, a popular choice amongst the Reds faithful due to his success at Craven Cottage last term, but former Forest star has come out and backed his former teammate.
