Premier League side Burnley are in advanced talks with Bristol City over a deal to sign midfielder Josh Brownhill for £6million, according to Football Insider.

Brownhill has caught the attention of the Clarets following his impressive form in Bristol City's midfield this term, and it is now being reported that the Turf Moor outfit are growing in confidence that a deal can be agreed for Brownhill.

The 24-year-old is thought to be happy at Ashton Gate after starting 26 of the Robins' 27 league matches this campaign, but is also understood that Brownhill is keen to test himself in the top-flight after excelling in the second tier.

Sean Dyche is reportedly keen on a deal for Brownhill in order to help boost his side's survival hopes - with the Lancashire club currently sitting 15th in the top-flight - and it appears a deal is moving closer to being agreed with the Championship outfit.

Plenty of City supporters have taken to Twitter following this fresh development, with many of them showing plenty of concern over the possibility of Brownhill leaving, while others suggested the £6million fee should be much higher.
