Bristol City missed the chance to go level on points with sixth-placed Bournemouth on Wednesday following defeat at Brentford.

Zak Vyner put the Robins into an early lead, but the inform Bees responded through Sergi Canos, Ivan Toney and Saman Ghoddos, which meant that Nahki Well's added-time strike was little more than a consolation.

But the result wasn't the only bad news on the night for the Ashton Gate side - with manager Dean Holden confirming two major injury blows after the game in West London.

Holden told Bristol Live that Tommy Rowe and Hakeeb Adelakun are both facing further spells on the sidelines - with the latter expected to be ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.

Diedhiou? Martin? – Can you name which Bristol City player scored each these 15 goals this season?

"Tommy Rowe is going to be longer. He's got a tear to a ligament outside to his knee. He’s probably going to be a couple of months," Holden admitted.

"Hakeeb's the same, I think Hakeeb's season is done. He’s got a fracture of his back and he’s going to be out for a while as well."

These two setbacks are the latest in a freakishly long line of injuries for Bristol City this term, and we've been looking at how the Ashton Gate faithful have been reacting on Twitter to the news:
