Aston Villa's Callum O'Hare has been linked with a move to League One Barnsley, as reported in the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The 20-year old made four Championship appearances last season, but hasn't featured yet this season in Villa's solid start under the new owners.
The report suggests he's now going to be made available for loan, with Daniel Stendel's high-flying Barnsley the likely destination.
The Tykes were relegated form the Championship last season, but have made a strong start to life in League One under the new manager. The highlighted their promotion credentials last night with a resounding 4-0 win away at Rochdale.
They've now scored ten goals without reply in the current league campaign, a 0-0 draw with AFC Wimbledon the only slight stumble in an otherwise comprehensive opening.
O'Hare made his first team debut for Villa in the EFL Cup last season, making a Championship bow a couple of days later as Bruce's side were beaten 3-0 by Cardiff City.
The Verdict
O'Hare is a real talent but he won't improve without senior football. Aston Villa are not in a position to offer that, but Barnsley are.
They've been impressive so far this season, playing pressing football at a high tempo which will see the youngster on the ball regularly. His development will come long quickly with first team experience so the move will suit all parties.
