The Championship resumed this past weekend after a two-week hiatus to accommodate the autumn international fixtures.

And the division is in overdrive with three games in the space of a week with all five Yorkshire sides back in action after the interval.

Rotherham United had a mixed week winning and losing one each of their two games since the league resumed.

Leeds remained unbeaten with a draw at The Den against Millwall followed by an impressive thumping of Preston North End on Tuesday night.

Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday both play this evening after a defeat for the Blades and a draw for the Owls on the weekend.

Hull City, meanwhile, saw off the advances of Ipswich Town to win at the weekend before faltering against Wigan Athletic last night.

In this week’s round-up, we take a whistle-stop tour of all the news from the sides in Yorkshire from this past week.

The Millers fell to defeat on Tuesday night, going down 2-0 away to Aston Villa after an impressive win on the weekend over high-flying Derby County.

After the defeat manager Paul Warne offered his thoughts on how he thought the evening went.

Despite the defeat, the Millers will be hoping to see a marked improvement this weekend when they travel to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest.

Before the league resumed after the international break, there was some bad news for Clark Robertson.

The defender is out for the foreseeable future having failed to recover fully from a long-standing groin issue.

Sean Raggett is another who is out with injury having sustained an ankle problem and is due to be out for two months.

Finally, young academy product Akeem Hinds has joined Frickley Athletic on a one-month youth loan.

The Tigers failed to add to their convincing win last weekend against Ipswich when they fell to defeat against Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night.

Adkins reacted to the defeat in typical positive fashion, feeling his side could have been home and dry within the opening half of the first half at the KCOM Stadium.

One man who is anything but positive is David Milinkovic.

The winger took to Instagram to post a message in French to his followers.

Having only played 41 minutes under Adkins, the Serbian has been left frustrated at a lack of game time since a collapse move to Serie A side Genoa and has not even made the bench in recent weeks.

Translated, Milinkovic said: “While waiting for my time I train hard every day. If I have to bank every day it does not matter; I will be even stronger when I return.

“Last year was my season to prove who I am. I have too much rage in my stomach; soon I will do what I love most on a football field.

“God is great and sees everything. Patience and work is the fruit of success.”

And finally, on the Hull from, SMC, the Hull Stadium company run by the football club’s owners, The Allams, has posted huge loses.

The Tigers’ relegation to the Championship has been the blame for the lack of income into the club.

The new accounts also reveal the SMC now owes £13.6m to Hull City

After his spectacular volley against Millwall in their first won of the season, Barry Bannan has won the Championship  Goal of the Month award for August.

Since his goal, Bannan has been on form for the Owls and has scored two more goals since, including in the 2-2 draw with Stoke on the weekend.

During last week, Wednesday had agreed to a deal with BBC for radio commentary to be broadcast from Hillsborough again

This comes a month after the club rejected a deal from the BBC, and with the contract expiring and talks ongoing, an agreement has been finalised.

Finally, Kieran Lee has picked up yet another injury.

The midfielder is facing more time on the sidelines having been on the comeback trail from a hip injury in recent weeks.

The 30-year-old suffered a knee injury in an U23s fixture last week.

Tonight marks the 100th league game in charge for Sheffield United for Chris Wilder.

Since his arrival at Bramall Lane in May 2016, he has overseen 54 wins, and 19 draws which included the League One title two years ago. In total,

Wilder has won just over 53 per cent of his matches since taking charge.

Positive news now, and Paul Coutts has stepped up his return from injury.

The midfielder played 90 minutes for the U23 and captained the team as he steps up his rehabilitation after almost a year out with a broken Leg.

In some bizarre news, Sheffield United has been selling cutouts of their players.

All cut-outs are signed and only available in person from the club shop.

And Finally, Wilder has revealed he will have plenty of money to spend come January.

The Blades boss has said the club have not touched the David Brooks money after he went to Bournemouth and there is cash there should the club need it.

Tyler Roberts opened his account for Leeds United on Tuesday evening with a brace in the 3-0 win over Preston North End.

The striker reacted to his first two goals for the club in a post-match interview directly after the game.

One man who was impressed with the performance and the win was Kemar Roofe.

The injured forward, who is Leeds’ top goalscorer this season, offered his support for his teammates after the impressive win.

Moving on, and Marcelo Bielsa has explained why he came to Leeds.

The head coach said to the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Phil Hay: "Leeds have similar aspects to Marseille and Bilbao.

"The link between the city and the team, the fans who are passionate. Lille also had this feature. It was attractive to discover English football from inside."

It has been an impressive start for Leeds under Bielsa, who remain unbeaten so far in the Championship this season.

They extended their run to eight games without defeat, and the above tweet shows the average possession of his side, who deploy a fast, possession-based style of play, in each of their eight matches so far this season.

And finally, some more Leeds injury news, this time, however, it is news on Luton loanee Eunan O’Kane.

The midfielder is set to be out for a prolonged period after having surgery on a double leg break in the win over Bristol Rovers on the weekend.
