Barnsley’s official Twitter account have replied to an Aston Villa video showing Conor Hourihane’s first-goal for the club.

Hourihane moved to Villa Park from Barnsley during the January transfer window, and bagged his first goal for Villa in Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over Bristol City.

Villa posted a video of the goal with the caption: “Du du du du du du du du Conor Hourihane,” which led to a response from the Yorkshire rivals.

Barnsley replied claiming that the transfer between the two clubs did not involve Hourihane’s song.

Tuesday’s win was the first time Hourihane has tasted victory in a Villa shirt, after five consecutive defeats and missing Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Derby County through injury.

Hourihane’s contribution on Tuesday evening helped to move Villa nine-points clear of the bottom-three, easing fears Steve Bruce’s side could be dragged into a relegation battle.
