Yohan Benalouane has send a passionate message to Nottingham Forest fans on social media, responding to speculation linking him with a move away from the club.

The 32-year-old only joined Nottingham Forest in January - when he was signed by former manager Martin O'Neill.

The centre-back went on to make 14 appearances in the Championship last season and quickly established himself as a fans' favourite for the Reds, after scoring the winner against rivals Derby County at the City Ground.

However, the defender is currently sidelined with a hip injury and is yet to feature for Nottingham Forest under new head coach Sabri Lamouchi - who replaced O'Neill in charge at the City Ground earlier this summer.

A report from Turkish media outlet Fanatik (print edition) emerged yesterday, linking him with a move to Fenerbahce.

However, Benalouane has now responded to the transfer speculation with a message on his personal

The Verdict

Benalouane was an important player for Nottingham Forest during the second half of last season and he was able to form a good partnership with Alexander Milosevic at centre-back.

His committed performances on the pitch quickly saw him become a fans' favourite at the City Ground and I'm sure Nottingham Forest fans will be pleased that he is committed to the club.

Benalouane is yet to feature for Nottingham Forest under Lamouchi, so it'll be interesting to see whether he is able to force his way back into the starting line-up once he returns from his injury setback.
