Leeds United have been in terrible form over the second half of the 2017/18 campaign and appointing Paul Heckingbottom as the club's new manager hasn't really had a desired effect in terms of results.

The Whites are miles off the top six and it looks like being another season consigned to the second tier for a side who promised so much at the start of the campaign.

A club the size of Leeds demand to be competing in the higher echelons of the Championship at the very least and ex-Barnsley boss Heckingbottom will be firmly under pressure to hit the ground running next season.

In order to ensure that the club improves next season the boss will need to go shopping for some new recruits during the summer and FLW writer Lee Clarke looks at three freebies that might be worth looking at from a Leeds United point of view...

The right-back is a man who Paul Heckingbottom knows all about having signed him during his time with Barnsley and he could return to Oakwell to sign the 26-year-old during the summer.

Leeds definitely need to sign more players who boast Championship experience during the summer and the ex-Barnet man fits that bill given his two seasons at the Tykes.

The Bristol City central midfield has been in fine form for the Robins this season and his performances earlier in the campaign helped guide Lee Johnson's men to the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.

The 22-year-old has scored four times in the Championship this season and he would give the Whites a massive boost in an area of the pitch where they currently look somewhat vulnerable.

Leeds desperately need another goalkeeper and they could go down the experience route once again after a huge amount of success with Robert Green who kept goal with distinction for the Whites last season.

The 36-year-old has played 37 times for the Tigers this season and it seems highly unlikely that the Scotsman will be kept on ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

Leeds United fans, would you welcome these three to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
