The press conferences are done, the management team are in place, and now Dean Smith can fully prepare for life as the new manager of Aston Villa Football Club.

The former Brentford boss, a lifelong Villa fan, has the opportunity to steer Villa's fortunes around after what has been a dismal start to the season, after winning just one of their last ten league games.

But Smith has worked wonders at Brentford, implementing his attractive brand of football at Griffin Park and transforming the Bees into real promotion contenders.

His first taste as Villa manager will be a home clash with Swansea City on Saturday afternoon, where his Villa side will be backed by a boisterous Villa Park faithful.

Smith himself will be backed by new assistant coach Richard O'Kelly as well as former club captain John Terry, who have been pictured here in high spirits as they lead a training session.

In light of this tweet, we take at Villa fans' reactions, as they await a new chapter under Dean Smith.
