According to reports from Sky Sports, Aitor Karanka is keen to speak to Huddersfield Town regarding the vacant managerial role at the John Smith's Stadium.

The Terriers are on the search for a new manager after parting company with Jan Siewert on Friday night, after succumbing to their second league defeat of the season against Fulham.

The German picked up just one win in a total of 19 games in charge of the Yorkshire club, but they will now be looking to appoint a replacement for the 37-year-old after a lacklustre start to the season.

Mark Hudson, who is currently in temporary charge, is believed to be a contender in the running to replace Siewert, along with former Stoke manager Gary Rowett and QPR assistant John Eustace.
