Stoke City striker Saido Berahino has had a torrid time at the Bet365 Stadium since joining in January 2017, failing to find the net in his 32 appearances for the club.

The 25-year-old, who has started two of the Potters opening four matches so far this season, has looked sharper from the outset of the season, but has still failed to score thus far.

Gary Rowett’s side have struggled to adapt to life in the second tier of English football so far, picking up just two points from their opening four fixtures of the campaign.

Rowett, who took over as boss at Stoke earlier this summer, looks set to give Berahino a shot in the Potters side this season, but it will be up to the Burundi-born forward to prove his worth.

We discuss whether it would be right for Rowett offload Saido Berahino  for the 2018/19 Championship campaign on loan, or on a permanent deal...

Christian Fuller

Yes, maybe on a permanent move.

Saido Berahino hasn't scored a goal in such a long time, that I feel it may be time for Rowett to let the Burundi-born striker go.

With no sign of an influx of goals any time soon, Berahino is somewhat wasted space at the Bet365 Stadium as things stand, and should be allowed to depart the club.

Alfie Burns

Not if Rowett continues to play him.

It seems like Berahino will get a chance under Rowett, so he shouldn’t be forcing a move.

Instead, he should have his head down and be focusing on getting amongst the goals.

Louie Chandler

I may be alone here but I think he is worth keeping.

It seems like Rowett is trying to get the striker's confidence back up and it is easy to forget what a talented striker Berahino is.

If he starts firing he will be tremendous asset in the Championship and a great strike partner for Afobe.
