Wolves have been the best side in the Championship so far this season, hence the reason they are top of the league and looking strong.

The men from Molineux have been flying along in the second tier to the extent where the likes of Helder Costa can't often get a kick for the club - despite his form last year.

It begs the question, then, does this factor highlight best simply how far Wolves have come this season? We take a closer look...

Sam Rourke

I think it does.

Costa was sensational for Wolves last season and was a shining light for the Black Country side - It was unimaginable to think he wouldn't start this season, but that seems to be the case.

Of course, he suffered an injury earlier on in the season that has sidelined him for a large period, but even when back fit, he struggles to start at the minute.

Alfie Burns

Absolutely.

Wolves were reliant on Costa last season, with his goals and performances probably the thing that kept the club away from a relegation battle.

This year, he can’t seem to get anywhere near Nuno’s starting XI.

Wolves have come a long way in a short period of time, and it is highlighted by Costa’s struggle to get a game.

Chris Gallagher

Yes, it does.

Wolves fans won't believe it after last season but they are more than comfortable without Costa.

The new signings have taken the team to a new level and it means they can cope without such a talented player.

Admittedly, Costa hasn't reproduced the form he displayed last season, but the fact Wolves are no longer need him to be at his best says it all.

Adam Simeoni

The undisputed star of the side last season, Costa probably isn't even one of the top five players at the club this season.

Winger Diogo Jota has been sensational, keeping Costa out of the side, and the likes of Leo Bonatini and Ruben Neves have made the Portuguese star look distinctly average in comparison.

If Santo can get Costa back to how he looked last season however, Wolves would be unstoppable.
