Benfica forward Chris Willock could be in line to make his loan deal with West Bromwich Albion into a permanent one, according to The Express and Star.

The 21-year-old arrived at The Hawthorns in the summer from Portuguese giants Benfica on an initial loan deal, and it is now reported that the Midlands based club are considering making the move permanent.

Willock is yet to feature for the Baggies’ first team and has not been included in a matchday squad by boss Slaven Bilic since his arrival.

Despite his absence, Willock, who is the older brother of Arsenal midfielder Joe – has impressed with the U23 side.

Having developed in Arsenal’s various youth teams, Willock was sold by the Gunners to Benfica in 2017, signing a five year deal with the Portuguese side.

During his time with The Eagles, Willock made 64 appearances for the B team, scoring 14 goals in the process.

Aside from his club development, Willock has also featured for England at various youth levels, being announced in the Team of the Tournament at the U17 European Championships in 2015.

With club officials now said to be discussing whether or not to pursue the deal – fans of the Baggies took to Instagram to give their opinions.
