New Birmingham City signing Alen Halilovic has sent a message to fans after joining the Midlands club, which has drawn an excited reaction from the St Andrew's faithful. 

Birmingham announced the signing of the former AC Milan and Barcelona midfielder today, with the 24-year-old joining the Championship outfit until the end of the season.

The Croatian has been a free agent since leaving the San Siro at the end of last season but will be looking to kick-start his career with Aitor Karanka's men.

Soon after his arrival was announced, Halilovic took to Twitter to send a message to Blues supporters and outline his excitement at joining the club.

The attacking midfielder came through the Dinamo Zagreb youth setup before joining Barcelona in 2015 but made just one senior appearance for the La Liga giants.

Permanent moves to Hamburger SV and Milan have followed, as well as a string of loan spells, but the 24-year-old has failed to live up to his high potential just yet.
