Frank Lampard will be looking to extend Derby County's excellent start to the season when he takes his side away to Rotherham at the weekend.

But with David Nugent and Martyn Waghorn staking their claim as the regular starters, is there any argument for starting 24-year-old Jack Marriott instead?

So we ask, should Lampard select Marriott to start this weekend?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

Yes, 100% he should start.

I’m a huge Jack Marriott fan and I think he’s going to be a big star for Derby.

He needs games though, he needs to adjust to the challenges the Championship brings.

He won’t get that sitting on the bench or playing in the cup.

Jay Taylor

There could be a case to start the former Peterborough man.

Derby, however, are on an unbeaten run and the team is performing well at present.

Having missed out on the 18, Marriott should hope to make the bench first and foremost before coming on.

He has had two weeks to try and get Frank Lampard’s attention to get himself involved in the first team more regularly.

George Dagless

I think so.

Mason Mount is Derby's top scorer and they need a striker to step up and make the spot his own.

Martyn Waghorn has perhaps started the best of all but Marriott deserves a chance to stake his claim.
