Yeovil Town have handed trials to Daventry Town midfielder Mykel Beckley and AFC Shenfield striker Billy Texiera according to Sky Sports.

The duo have been offered trials at the club following a non-league competition for players over the age of 25 who have failed to make it professionally into football. The competition was run by Budweiser and the duo impressed football legends.

Shenfield striker Texiera's day job is a forklift truck driver but it seems that the 27-year old may be set to quit the day job. Last season he scored 29 league goals for his side in the Sheffield Olympian League.

Daventry Town midfielder Mykel Beckley made a name for himself during the competition as a winger and earned praise from France legend David Ginola.

Beckley has also netted himself a trial with League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge who have described him as a striker with pace and an eye for a goal.

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson told the club website, ""One of my staff, Stuart Housley, was at the trials and he asked me to take a look at them. I agreed for them to come down and join us at training at the start of the season."

Both players will be hoping for successful trials at the club and to become the next non-league wonder story.
