Yeovil Town have announced the signing of Chesterfield full-back Nathan Smith on a bosman deal on the club’s website and twitter page.

The Jamaican international will return to his former club on the date of his contract expiry (July 1st 2014). Smith left the club for Chesterfield just two years ago but now a return has been made.

The pacey full-back has agreed a two-year deal with the recently relegated Sky Bet Championship club and will report to training on July 1st to prepare for the club’s League One campaign next season.

The full-back enjoyed three years at the club prior to stay with Chesterfield. He was signed from non-league side Potters Bar following a successful trial period having impressed during a pre-season friendly between the two clubs.

In an interview with the club website, manager Gary Johnston said, “After discussions with Terry Skiverton and Darren Way, who Nathan played under during his first spell at the club, we were all happy to bring Nathan back to the club.

“I am sure all the supporters will remember Nathan’s style of play and we all look forward to welcoming him back to Huish Park at the start of July.”
