AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was full of praise for match winning striker Yann Kermorgant in his post match press conference.

Howe was delighted for Kermogant

The Frenchman scored twice as Howe's side beat Wolves 2-1 on Tuesday night to climb above Norwich into fourth spot in the Sky Bet Championship.

Kermogant has been through a difficult spell in the last few weeks, and was left out at Nottingham Forest due to personal issues and he had to watch two good efforts denied by the woodwork and a determined Jason Steele against Blackburn at the weekend. But the 33-year-old was back to top form last night with a brace for the Cherries.

"Yann and Callum [Wilson] today were a real force...Yann's technique for a big guy was of the top drawer today, his work rate was excellent for the type of player he is." Said Howe to FLW reporter Jack Rosser at the post match press conference.

"The impact he had for us last year was he transformed us from a team that couldn't really cross the ball to a team that was devastating from crosses so another cross tonight where he's nipped in front of the center half and showed good technique to score."

Kermorgant opened the scoring for the Cherries after ten minutes when Matt Ritchie pulled the ball back to the Frenchman who finished with a well-executed volley across Thomaz Kuszczak who was helpless to stop it.

He got his second straight after the restart as Wilson was bought down in the box by Stearman. Kermorgant converted from the spot, his effort just sneaking under keeper Thomaz Kuszczak.

Howe was full of praise for the man that Huddersfield boss, Chris Hughton, recently called the signing of his career:

"Yann's a great guy I love working with him, he's a real professional." Said Howe, "He's been through a lot in his life, he hasn't had it given to him, so what he's achieved in football he's come the hard way.

"It's great to see someone work that hard get the rewards that he is...He's going to be big for us now in the run in."

Last night's victory, the Cherries' first since 7th February, leaves them just two points short of Derby County in second place with just 11 games left to play.
